  • Welcome Back!

Fri 05 Sep 2025 Miss McGowan

  • Year 6 Crucial Crew

Thu 27 Mar 2025 Miss McGowan

This morning, Year 6 attended Crucial Crew at Rochdale football ground.

We took part in workshops where we discussed ways of keeping safe in various scenarios.  They discussed how to keep safe on: the railways, public transport, around alcohol, road safety, health and exercise and hate crime/speech.

Children listened carefully to instructors and gave thoughtful and considerate answers to their questions.

We are really proud of the children today and know they have learnt lots which will help guide them as they gain more independence going forward to high school.

    Ask you child about:

    * How much sugar is in one small bottle of Coke?4

    * How much does one tram cost?

    * Why should we not trespass on the railway?
    * What is the difference between anti-social behaviour and criminal activity? Do the two ever overlap?

    * What can we do to protect ourselves when crossing roads - especially at night time?

Our School Council have created a joke book using jokes our pupils have contributed and this will be put together and printed by Miss Plumb and displayed in our school library. We'll let you know when this is available!

We've had a great day and thank you to all the parents and carers who have supported us in our fundraising!
