This money will go to each Head Teacher to spend on improving the Quality of Sport and PE for all their children. This is already available for the academic year 2013/2014, 2014/2015 and 2015/16

The Sports funding can only be spent on sport and PE Provision in school

Purpose of Funding

Schools have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

Possible uses:

  •  Hiring PE Specialists or Qualified Coaches to work alongside class teachers
  •  New or Additional Change for Life Clubs
  •  CPD opportunities both external and in-school for PE/Sport
  •  Increasing Participation in school games/competitions

  •  To provide specialist teaching across the PE curriculum including swimming
  •  To provide high quality sporting opportunities for all children regardless of sporting ability
  •  To provide opportunities for pupils to compete and participate in PE and sport beyond the school day
  •  To enable the most able pupils the opportunity to compete against the most able pupils from other schools across arrange of sports
  •  To give access to CPD opportunities and training for all staff
  •  To provide equipment and training to enable pupils to have a more active lunchtime

The impact of this now means St Andrew’s have:
